Big File Form Uploads brings large, chunked uploads to Gravity Forms File Upload fields.<\/strong> Once the add-on is active, your File Upload fields inherit the maximum upload size from Big File Uploads and send files to your server in small pieces — so your visitors can submit large files without hitting host limits or timeouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This guide shows you how to add a large-file upload field to a Gravity Forms form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before You Start<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Make sure the following are active:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Big File Uploads<\/strong> (free parent plugin), with your maximum upload size set under Settings → Big File Uploads → Uploading Files<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Big File Form Uploads<\/strong> (the add-on).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Gravity Forms<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Step 1: Add a File Upload Field<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Go to Forms<\/strong> and open (or create) the form you want to edit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
From the field panel, add a File Upload<\/strong> field under Advanced Fields<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Drop it into your form layout.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
Step 2: Save the Form<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
This step matters. When you save the form, Big File Form Uploads prepares your File Upload fields for chunked uploading — it enables multi-file mode so the chunked uploader can take over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click Update<\/strong> (or Save Form<\/strong>) after adding or editing a File Upload field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
If you ever change your maximum upload size in Big File Uploads, no form changes are required — the new limit is applied to the uploader automatically.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Step 3: Test the Upload<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Preview the form or visit the page where it's embedded.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Choose a large file in the File Upload field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Submit the form.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
The file is uploaded in small chunks before submission. The form won't complete until the upload finishes, so you never receive a partial entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Good to Know<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Field upload limits.<\/strong> Big File Form Uploads sets the uploader's maximum size from your Big File Uploads setting. If you've set a smaller \"Maximum File Size\" on the field itself in Gravity Forms, that lower value still applies — raise it if you want visitors to use the full limit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Multi-file fields.<\/strong> When the add-on prepares a single File Upload field for chunking, it switches the field to multi-file mode. If you need visitors to attach more than one file, increase the Maximum Number of Files<\/strong> on the field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
The limit is global.<\/strong> The maximum size comes from Big File Uploads and applies across all your Gravity Forms File Upload fields.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
